Up at 3am. That's 8am in Ghana. I was thinking about stuff to pack, stuff to do, stuff to buy, just stuff. I have been feeling so much better this week and I am grateful for that! I don't know how to describe how I am feeling about this missions trip. Excitement, nervousness, excitement, nervousness, etc. Despite these conflicting feelings, I have peace about this trip and am looking forward to what God is going to teach me and change me. I still find it hard to believe that I am actually going to Ghana.
I am looking forward to spending time with the McIntyre's and getting to know them, their children and their mission better. God has certainly given them a vision and He is working to complete it. We are going to be working at Beacon House, visiting the market, a village, two churches, a mall (yes, I said a mall)and doing some site seeing. There is much more, but you get the idea that we are going to be very busy. We are team 1. Team 2 arrives on the 12th. Both teams will be with McIntyre's for a week. What an opportunity to share hearts, and space, with sister's-in-Christ. That's right! All women except for our team leader.
My son, Beth's husband, is taking us to the airport. We will be picking up Jim and all the extra luggage. Our flight doesn't leave O'Hare until 1:15, so we won't have to leave super early. We have a two hour flight to DC and then a six hour layover before our ten and a half hour flight to Accra, Ghana.
