Praise the Lord! My first flight went well. I learned so many things on my 4 day trip to Texas to visit my sister. My sister, Karen, and I went to visit our sister, Pauline in Texas. We went to surprise her for her retirement party and to help with the party preparations in any way we could. We succeeded at both. The retirement party was included in a company party they have at their home/small ranch every year. This year's attendance was 275 people of all ages. We helped clean, set up, take down, clean again, and anything else we could do. The temperature was around 100 every day and it was kind of humid.
So, are you wondering God was teaching me?
First, I learned that He will get me where I need to be when I need to be there. We arrived at the airport in Milwaukee in plenty time despite the unusually heavy, stop and go traffic all the way through the city. And we found the person picking us up even if we didn't have cell phones. On our return trip the airport at Dallas/Fort Worth had quite a line at the security check and we were not sure we would make boarding, but the line moved swiftly and we had plenty time. We arrived home safely...right through the rain clouds. I know what it is like to fly now and am not worried about that-I shouldn't have been worried anyway.
Second, God showed by that I will be able to accomplish the task He has set before me, even if it is hot and humid. I actually enjoyed the heat! The whole time I was there I wasn't cold once...except when I got a chill in the pool. So no more concern over whether I will be able to do whatever it is that God has planned for me.
Third, God showed my how precious it is to be with fellow brother and sisters in Christ no matter where we are. My sister, Karen and I had such a wonderful time of praise and worship on Sunday morning as we made a 2 mile walk together. God Blessed us as we worshiped Him.
Finally, God showed me what it is I am going to be doing in Ghana. WHATEVER NEEDS TO BE DONE! That is what I did in Texas. Serving in whatever capacity I am able, with the certain knowledge that I am serving my Savior and my God just as He planned all along.
So, when I leave, in 7 weeks and 6 days, I will do so with joyous anticipation praising my Creator for His Grace and Mercy.
